Thus, the latest take on Peter Moore’s iconic Nike Dunk indulges in non-traditional components and cuts throughout the overlays. For starters, smooth leather bases are replaced with breathable mesh, while suede swaths in varying shapes and sizes are wedged between the lightweight material and its tumbled leather overlays. More durable paneling appears at the usual spots – forefoot, along the tongue, around the heel – but boasts jagged, angled edges. The disparate hits of “Oil Green,” “Phantom” and “Light Bone” also nod to the sneakers’ scrap-like arrangement.
