A similar Celtics-themed Air Jordan 1 High was released in 2009 as part of a Defining Moments Pack alongside the model’s original “Bred” make up. However, the 2009 version predated Jordan Brand’s remastered Air Jordan 1 High OG, making this new 2023 iteration the first time it has released in this form.
The color palette on this reissue is a nod to the Boston Celtics — one of Jordan and the Bulls’ rivals in the Jordan Brand ’90s. Its titular shade reflects the Eastern Conference squad’s main tone and comes pronounced atop the flaps, laces and lower heel overlays. The popularized “Black Toe” color blocking that features solid black Swooshes, and overlays set against angelic quarters and toe boxes is also implemented. The main difference with this forthcoming installment is that the tongue branding has been modified. Instead of Jumpman logos, the tongues are embellished with the more favored Nike Air branding.
