The immediate connection can be seen with the “JR” and “SR” markings on the heel tab, with the left shoe featuring Junior’s 24 jersey number and the right donning Dad’s #30. But despite its mostly black and white build, there are a handful of callouts to the uniforms the two first wore on the diamond together back in 1990. Back then, Seattle rocked a duo of royal and gold, seen here on the aforementioned PE numbers, as well as the forefoot mini Swoosh and alternating tongue liners. Suede eyestay overlays honor their grey uniforms, while white elsewhere is an honor to their staple white duds. Completing the design is baseball-inspired stitching at the heel, and JR/SR altered Nike logos on the insoles.
