Description
The blue accents that give the shoe its name are present on the perforated suede heel and collar — an interesting alternate material choice, as the AJ1 Low usually uses leather or nubuck — plus the laces and outsole. The rest of the upper is dressed in black or white, with the former appearing on overlays, mudguards, tongues and Swooshes, while the latter graces toeboxes and quarter panels. Although the colorblocking is not identical, the overarching palette bears a noticeable resemblance to artist Todd Bratrud‘s Nike SB Dunk High “Send Help” from 2006. What’s more is that the coloring and perforations also resemble 2009’s skateboarding-ready Air Jordan 1 Phat Low “Laser Blue.”
Non OG-style Air Jordan 1 Lows also add a substantial dose of extra branding, all of which is present and accounted for here. Tonal ball-and-wings graphics hit the heel, and tongues offer a small blue Jumpman on the top plus Michael Jordan‘s #23 in blue on the lace keeper. White midsoles and the aforementioned blue outsoles round things off, with blue flat laces and black rope laces allowing the wearer to add a personal touch.
